The philosophical distinction between know-that and know-how
Main Article Content
Abstract
Rylean distinction between knowing-that and knowing-how together with the thesis of the reducibility of the latter to the former are presented. A distinction between a psychological and a logical reduction is proposed. The former is surely false, as certified by plenty of experimental data. On the other side, there are at least two recent attempts of logical reduction, which are critically investigated: Krupski and Rodin (2017), Stanley (2011). Both are partially problematic.
