Abstract

In the historical reconstruction of Italian school and educational events during the first half of the 20th century, it has emerged how the Second World War, with the lack of clothing, the high cost of books and stationery, bequeathed a school battered not only in its premises, which were tested by the inevitable deterioration and destruction, but also in its core and its needs.

This contribution aims to analyse, through an examination of the school magazine "La Voce della scuola", published in 1945 by the teachers of the province of Taranto and directed to colleagues and pupils in the area, the issues related to the rebirth of the Italian school, replacing the culture and exaltation of conflict with a new education for peace. We will focus, in particular, on the analysis of the column 'I problemi della Ricostruzione' (The Problems of Reconstruction), the extract 'Il Giornalino degli Scolari' (The Schoolchildren's Newspaper) and the editorials of the 1945-1946 year.
