Ideas for thought to re-consider citizenship education. the Libera case

Abstract
Although contemporary society is a strongly individualist one, supported by neoliberal ideologies which promote competition and efficiency, an increasing number of citizens are committed to the common good, fostering solidarity and social co-responsibility, strategic values for the redesign of communities inspired by democratic and inclusive principles.
Libera. Associazioni, nomi e numeri contro le mafie is an association that has been working for years on training programs and participatory planning of confiscated criminal assets, supporting local development processes and social cohesion. In this regard, Libera offers food for thought to re-consider citizenship education, focusing also on its economic and social implications and its contradictions, in order to uncover injustices and inequalities and promote that glocal consciousness we need to build a society based on global solidarity.
