“If you want to know, ask”. An exploratory research between creators and users of science communication as a basis for building a fruitful dialogue between academia and scientific dissemination
Main Article Content
Abstract
Science communication (SC) has recently been characterised by a fusion between dissemination and edutainment and by its diffusion via social media with cross-platform interactions. This maximises its effectiveness because it promotes communicative reinforcement and personal reflection by users (Fisch, 2013; Jarvin, 2015; Foel, 2021). Furthermore, thanks to the construction of cohesive communities, it re-signifies the process within a socially meaningful framework. Although the educational potential of SC has already been grasped (Duffy, 2008), today it is necessary to deepen it: research has therefore been promoted involving creators and users through a survey with profiling questions, both closed and open, which will continue with a subsequent phase conducted through semi-structured interviews. The aim is to start from creators’ and users’ experiences to understand how to build educational paths between science education and media education and to establish a fruitful dialogue between academia and scientific disseminators.
