Leadership and participation as new practices of the common good

Abstract
Community desire is not only the title of the well-known book of Bauman (2001), but it is also the emerging desire of society to rediscover the lost sense of sharing and common good. In this era of globalization and uncertainty, education - for its innovative character – has a key role to play in constructing democratic contexts with a view to solidarity and inclusion among people and social groups. In this contribution, we analyze the concept of leadership such as strengthening educational roles and training skills. The goals are distribution and sharing of power ‘to know’ and to emphasize the incidence of a communication based on respect, active participation and peer comparisons. Interest is not just about political education but also about policies that improve the practices of democratic citizenship and improve the conditions of social coexistence. Thus, power/leadership’s dynamics are recognized as an opportunity for the growth and development of the person-in-relation and for the institutions that assume formative responsibilities.
