Abstract

This article aims to analyze the figure of the adult as it is represented through the media, in particular in some TV series. Because of their popularity and wide variety of forms, TV fictions can be considered as a form of public pedagogy that transforms private acts into shared experiences, developing narrative and biographical (self)learning. TV series present situations of everyday life, revisit social and family stereotypes, suggest contents, pose issues and elements of reflection. They portrait a form of informal adult education that intercepts and summarizes conditions, fragilities, models, ambivalences. Through a critical educational analysis of these representations, the article discusses the continuous and complex process of being / becoming adults influenced by these media
