Abstract

The role of the teacher is part of a deep discussion which examines new educational needs and new educational actions (Borgi et al., 2016; Tammaro et al., 2016).

In order to innovate teaching practice (Limone & Parmigiani, 2017), the analysis and reflection of one’s actions (Mangione & Rosa, 2017) take on value through the use of a video: that is a pedagogical enhancer (Cescato et al., 2015) facilitating the observation of activities, by narrowing the gap between theory and practice (Impedovo, 2018).

In the motor and sport fields, it supports the teaching and the evaluation of skills (Harris, 2009). Through a reflective approach (Nishihara & Yonemura, 2017) based on video analysis (Santagata, 2012) physical education teachers can: plunge into teaching; identify interactions; strengthen partnerships and activities; stimulate motivation and selective attention (Gaudin et al., 2018); reflect on one’s own teaching style and share it.
