The Development of Employability in Higher Education. The Role of Career Services
Main Article Content
Abstract
The issues of European labour market (Eurostat, 2017) revealed, during last years, the need of public policies to support young adults’ university-to-work transition. In detail, the category of employability, developed in Anglo-Saxon pedagogical literature at the end of 90’s (Harvey, 1999; Yorke & Knight, 2006, has been recently assumed as a standpoint for the implementation of specific educational actions for the professional development. Based on this framework, the essay illustrates the state of art of an explorative research project aimed to investigate specific measures for the relationship between university and the world of work. The study of Career Services’ best practices may identify some new patterns for the connection of didactics, research and third mission within the future trends of Higher Education.
