The effectiveness of the online portfolio in the Italian Induction Route. The perception of devices and indications of improvement

Abstract

According to indications coming from Italian Ministry of Education on 2015, the induction training plan for new teachers has been radically revised. After an experimentation, involving more than 100.000 teachers throughout two school years, both conceptual and technological tools have been definitively implemented. These tools aim at promoting the development of relationship between design of pedagogical activities and reflection on action, which should characterize teachers’ professional practice. In this contribution, the process that brought to validation of those online tools is described, according to qualitative and quantitative analysis of their use. Several elements for their improvements are also outlined.
